PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

Following the Localism Act 2011, communities have been able to develop documents known as Neighbourhood Plans to set out their priorities for future development and initiate community projects to conserve, enhance or create amenities.

Coltishall Parish Council agreed in May 2017 to support the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish of Coltishall and Great Hautbois. A Steering Group for this work has been established and villagers have been invited to join it through articles in The Marlpit
​
Prior to the Localism Act, Coltishall Parish Council undertook a large-scale survey of village life in 2010 to find out the views of parishioners about what they liked and disliked about life in Coltishall and Great Hautbois, and about their hopes for the future. Two documents were published after this process: a parish plan and a detailed assessment of responses to questions asked. These are available below:
